Post

I have a 2000 1.8 20v t I bought it yesterday as a donor for my caddy  and it was running on 3 so checked it over and found an electrode missing from a plug so i put a new set of plugs in it and everything was fine.today it started running a bit lumpy so ive checked the plugs again but they are ok i checked the coil packs and found that its number 4 (furthest to the right) so swapped the coil packs and found that its not the coil pack either so its definatly number 4 but the plug and coilpack are both ok the wiring loom to the coil pack looks ok toowhere do I go next please?

how do you get the injectors out I got all the wiring out the way and removed the clips between the injectors and the fuel rail and tried pulling the rail off but didnt wanna pull to hard and put it all back together.

They can be pretty stiff mate. They do need a bit of persuasion. If all the clips and connectors are undone then pull away  ;)

Yeah get some mole grips on em and give em a good yank.

Try and get two out, then swap 4 with 3, that will tell you if its injector or cylinder related :)

Yea gonna try the injectors tomorrow as its cured itself for now but went for a run earlier and it dropped onto 3 then 10 mins later picked the cylinder i'm thinking it may well be the ignition amp after all.
This golf is a shed I can't wait to pull it apart. Today I unlocked it with the key which was stiff it went clunk and then it opened both windows right down.
Now the key barrel does nothing and when you lock it down 5 mins later it drops the windows and puts the interior light on. So I stripped the door and unplugged the power to the door lock locked the door from the inside and hey presto the door was locked up proper style
And wouldn't open. Obviously stripping the door when it's shut is double hard but managed it and re built door. 3 hours in the cold well spent.
