16V Wiring

Out of curiosity does anyone know an alternative loom I could you for a 16V KR engine?  Ive got the engine, all the other ancilliaries, just missing the loom

ALternative? What's the one your missing? Which bits of it, or is it all? You'll struggle without the ignition bits (ECU, its plug, and the connectors on the end of it) but all the other wiring is the same as any other Mk1 Golf GTI, just needs plugging into slightly different places.

I have the sole ECU that I bought off Ebay - so being new to this (plus doing it off my own back so excuse me if I sound alittle off)  I can use my existing loom in my 83 GTI but need the plug and ECU connectors?  Also one more question, I noticed when reviewing your 16v conversion thread you got the 16v inlet manifold looking quite plush, did you first go at it with a wire brush as such before painting?

Yeah you'll need the section of the loom that goes with the ECU. No need for a TCI though, they're all the same.

I got my inlet manifold professionally blasted and powder coated. Anything else DIY, will not be as good.
