Please help!
My garage is trying to help with the brake upgrade, the problem they have is even after reading through the 16v brake upgrade guide they still cant cut 10mm off the servo. There simply is not enough thread on the servo to cut 10mm off and then fit the clevis, the thread itself is just about 10mm.
Its definately a mk2 16v servo, from GSF. I havent got any pics right now sorry. Other than welding the clevis to the servo I dont know what to do any suggestions!?

Thanks! Its wierd, mine looks more like the middle one in terms of thread length, but I havent cut it. I will try adjusting the linkage a bit I think.

Measure the old servo, and the new one. That's how I got the 10mm measurement. If yours is already the same, then no worries.

on mine i just had to thread the mk1 clevis pin all the way on as far as it would go, so i just cut off enough thread to allow this to happen

I don't suppose you measured how much you cut off, ie a before and after measurement? Before I wrote the FAQ I'd read it was 5mm. I measured mine and cut off 10mm. Maybe there is variation within the different servos which can be used for the conversion.

no sorry i just measured from the back of the servo to the hole on the clevis on the mk1 servo, then found on the mk2 servo the clevis just had to be threaded on as far as it would go to match.
I put the clevis next to the thread to see how much had to go to allow this, marked and dremeled away!

I did drop in at the garage to take some pics but my camera ran out of battery! The thing is if I cut off 10mm I'd have no thread left at all. Maybe I have the wrong 9" servo.

Same suggestion to you as rubjonny - measure and compare with the original. Might not need to cut 10mm off.
