16v on carbs

Hi, has anyone know what distributor is used on the 1800 16v carb conversion, i need one with vacuum advance as i'm not using the ECU, rumour has it that its off a seat, but which!?! Any directions would be gratefully appreciated!! 8O

So far i've found that the Saab 900 turbo around '84 had vacuum advance, I'm gonna try it see! I'll let you know…

It was my first post, i was rushing and didn't notice about the wrong section!

Why are you not wanting to run the EiCU? It is set to give the right ignition map for the engine. If you use a vacuum advance type from another car the ignition points will be wrong. The Eicu fits nicely under the windscreen scuttle.

I gave the ECU and loom to a mate who's moved to Australia! I can use a 1.3 distributor with the locating lug ring from my KR distributor so it fits the 16v head. It'll be done in a couple of days. I'll keep posted…

What are the chances that the curve from a dizzy off another engine is anywhere near your requirements?!?

yeah, iv just found a dizzy and tci unit for now. might convert to megajolt further down the line.
