16v Crank Spun Bearing, Repairable?

Had a bad knock on my 16v (6a), I got around to stripping the engine and having a look yesterday.

Before I even took the cap off there was noticable freeplay maybe a mil or so (gulp)

Having a look at the bearings:

STD (standard size?)
74696600

and on the other end

SK (overlapped) R c
34748

Comparing conrods:

thats a shame,looks like a clean engine and clean oil running through it,it can be repaired,crank grind new  shells etc

Thats not a rod knockin,its a diesel stupid! floppy top and 1 tin top

yeah it can be done, but by the time you have paid for all the work you'll probably find its cheaper to just get another 2.0 bottom end, 9a lumps are dirt cheap these days as everone wants abfs. you could fit an abf but you may find your manifold no longer fits as most of them will hit the chassis due to abf being taller
