16v conversion

Hi ! can anyone tell me when doing the 16v conversion into the mk1 golf,do you use the 16v altenator,or the orignal mk1 gti altenator,if it fits the KR engine.Thankyou very much

You use the 16v KR one but having said that I'm using a MK3 golf 8v setup, pullies etc as I wanted to use the later style belt :wink:
