16v conversion help

1.8 16v KR Engine, early type i believe, using the mk1 fuel pump and mk2 16v fuel filter.

Ive got the engine in and all wired up.  Car turns over and just fires, for about 3-4 seconds and then dies.  Have checked spark, firing order and fuelling to the metering head.  Anyone able to shed any light on this please?  (There is fuel in the car).  Also, I am trying to run the auxilary air valve, which i think is wired up correctly but am having no joy.  2 questions really please.

1.  What wires and pipes should go to the AAV? (what colours)

2.  What plugs in to the plug on the throttle body?

Not sure about your wiring but the plug on the throttle I think is to tell the ECU that it is at idle (no throttle). Should be a micro switch there...

So presumably that should be going from ecu to throttle body?  Sorry for stoopid questions.
