14" Steels from a MK3 on a Mk1??

Has anyone seen a MK1 with 14" steels from a MK3?

Am I right in saying that the smaller the wheel, the lower the car can go and the bumpier the ride? I'm thinking that 14" wheels should be a reasonable compromise between comfort and stance?

Thanks,

The ride comfort will have much more to do with the tyre size rather than the size of the rim it is mounted on.

The smaller the diameter of the tyre, the lower the car will sit. Some tyres have softer side walls than others, but as a general rule of thumb: the more shallow the profile of the tyre - the more harsh the ride is likely to be.

Also, remember than significantly reducing (or increasing) the rolling radius of the tyre (when compared to the standard fit wheel/tyre size) will alter the cars gearing and will induce speedo errors.
