1.3 to ABF/9a help!

Hey,

I managed to finally buy a mk1 golf after wanting one for ages!

The one I have is a 1.3 driver.. and im looking at putting a 2.0 16 v in.. but I'm struggling to find info on what I need for either conversion!

I understand I need to move my left mount.. and buy a fuel tank and pump from a gti.. is that it??

Hello mate, I’m currently in the middle of converting my original 1.1 to a 2.0l 16v and have to say there’s a hell of a lot more to consider than just moving the engine mount and changing the tank and adding a pump. There’s loads of info. about this conversion on here though so take a look here:

So a quick glance over and I need..

engine (obviously!)
mounts
steering rack
fuel tank/pump/accumulator/pipes
gear lever/linkages
brakes
suspension
bigger wheels

I think that's it?

What's the deal with the wiring loom going from a 1.3 ? is it useable or can I just use everything that comes with the engine? or is it half and half?

While k-jet works fine when its all good any second hand parts you pick up are possibly going to be worn out, consider simplifying things( wiring and fueling)by maybe fitting bike carbs which seem to be a popular mod although ive never done it my self
