You know you've been driving a mk1 too long when...

…when youve read this threat from fornt to back and back to front because it feels so good to know youre not alone.

I especially agree with the telling other people things… they just dont get it.

Or when someone asks you what this thread is youre reading and you cant really explain it withoput saying she cant understand until she gets a propper car… (she drives a deawoo matiz :? )

i know all about that one- i asked my boyfrind in my sleep if he'd changed my radiator hose the other week! lol. he was like  :dontknow:    crazy bint of course not!!!

When you casually open your car door, stick your right leg out the door and roll the car back gently with the clutch down to free your stuck gearbox - -  - - - - as though it's normal!!!

hiya guys. my first post here! when you buy a cabby…..drive from newport south wales to sunderland (for those who dont know….really far!) to get. bring it home and in traffic find out some twerp hasnt bolted the front bumper on. hit the brakes coz of another twerp in front and your bumper comes off. The paking it up for 8 months while you got a bumper in the garage doing nothing ! D'oh

you know you've been driving a mk1 too long when you have to see the chiropractor (sp?) every week to get your back checked due to your coilies being low and rock solid.

You know youve been driving a Mk1 too long...when peoples children ask "whats that car" and the parents dont know either!

When your enigne blows up twice within a month and have to have the fire brigade out twice to put him out...! In fact I am on first name terms now with the entire cornish fire brigade... :cry:

when your gearbox replacement is more improtant than your partners christmas present....... :roll:

You know your driving a MK1 GTi when at the petrol station the middle aged man driving the rover 75 says with a slightly distant look in his eyes "i use to have one of those till i met my wife"

When giving her a clean you sit inside and pretend to take her for a drive and it doesnt matter where, as there is obviously nothing wrong with pretend driving right everyone !  8O

When you think it's perfectly ok to turn your lights off, turn them back on and beep your horn to make your dash display lights come on at night!

After putting the mk1 away in the garage after a journey. You remember you've left your phone in the car. Going back to get the phone you spot a bird poo on the car. So you wash off the mess and give the panel a polish to remove any mark. Then  polish the next panel, then the next.  Untill you've done the whole car. Cleaned the windows inside and out. Cleaned the wheels. Step outside the garage to find its dark and gone midnight,

When you park it up 6 days ago, haven't been in it since and are now sitting here looking for an excuse to go for a drive…
