Hi
Yea its being the perfect buy for me ,
first year i run it more or less the way it was til the winter set in, then i Enjoyed refurbing the running gear & fuel system at the back
then I run it all spring, summer, autum with out any problems
then I refurbed all the running gear at the front this winter
havnt had to touch the engine or box & dont intend to unless it goes Wrong , i did think about going for a full engine bay clean but im using it to much & it would just get dirty again in No-time
Have you decided to keep your MK1 ? it looks great in the photos , TBH i cant understand how no-one snapped it up i even thought about coming up & having a look mysel but i didnt want you to think i might of being wasting your time

its had nearly everything renewed with some nice upgrades, so would hope for 100% reliability once on the road, touch wood!
had somewhere in the region of 50 peeps looking for more pics and info but not one viewing, glad now! we must be meant to be together lol
will maybe do a thread on its progress, got its back end up in the air tonight ready for dropping the beam, so got the head on to get it done, just need to
keep at it and think of the rewards, a weekend should see it done.
cheers paul.

Lol maybe more like a hen than a chick these days!!I doubt I would make it to Knockhill, got a little dude to take care o now too so it changes things again. Do you know if there's any folk north o Inverness? Maybe you can give me a shout if ur planning going up to Dunrobin Castle (did u not go last year for a day out?), its a pest being all the way up here  I guess there is the Tain Vintage Rally too. Its hard trying to organise stuff cos folk say they're coming then don't show up and its a bit off putting for the next attempt. I couldn't keep up the last run and that was in the Gti, the cabrio is much slower 8O

the Ur quattros were struggling keeping up through the twisty roads as well , 2 Ur Quattros in my rear view mirror through the Glens , simply brilliant , prob never re-live that again
