What Polish/Wax do you use on your MK1

personally love the autoglym range.  super resin is good to begin, with an extra gloss on top.  I would however say that i have been unsing autoglym HD wax recently and it is great!  Gives a really smooth deep finish (as long as you are starting with something half decent to begin with) and its easier and quicker to apply than a polish!

Used Autoglym for last 20+ years with good effect. If I can be bothered then use some 'extra gloss' (not Autoglym, turtlewax?) that came 1st in one of the magazine tests.

When I got the Cabrio I used Autoglyms paint restorer then polished after removing about 50 million tar spots (white car!), came up like new.

I'm sure the neighbours think I've got some sort of compulsive disorder as I seem to be out cleaning or polishing one of the cars every other weekend!

Once a year good deep clean with maguiars products but final wax layer is Raceglaze42.
wash throughout the year again with maguiars shampoo then if I need to apply wax during the year just top up with RaceGlaze42.

Personally use meguiars shampoo stuff with two buckets. Then clay and onto some autoglym HD wax it's the way forward (especially as I get it for free )

i used to use 3M fine cut polish or red t cut to bring the red from this;

to this;

then i would just use a cap of turtle wax mixed with warm water.

since then the car has been resprayed to get rid of the rust and i only use turtle wax on it and now it looks like this;

one wash and wax every weekend. some people say im sad. but i am very very happy! LOOK HOW SHINY AND RED IT IS!! i love my golf

I currently use a new range of products called Kleers.  The prices are reasonable and the results I got were phenomenal.

When i can be bothered i go for:
Clay - P21s paint cleanser - Poorboys exp - Poorboys natty blue paste wax.

Poorboys exp gives a great deep shine when layered and sadly reveals the wobble in the bodywork where my drivers door was repaired after some chump drove into it.   :roll:
