What are these??!!

I've been slowly tidying up my new 1988 clipper cabby and have scrubbed and hoovered it almost to death (incidentally, that Stain Valet is a godsend!!)



but these horrible things on my wheel arches are driving me insane cf_emoticons__BangHead:



They're just glued on but will wreck the arch if I try to remove as they're stuck fast and they seem plasticky at the bottom but almost duct tape like at the top They look hideous and need either painting up or covering so does anyone know of a replacement part or some thing similar???

Try removing the black paint. 

Thanks funk-star They just look so bad like that. Do you reckon I should repaint them black as I quite like the look (if done right) only I don't imagine the paint will come off to attractively

Personally I think they look gash in black

If you can't clean them buy a replacement set, your can find them on eBay!  

Not sure what it takes to get the old ones off without damaging the paint but someone on here will.  

Try a heat gun on them to get them supple and the glue warm, which should make them easier to peel off to replace without damaging the paint. Just dont melt your paint!

Machine gun them off!

Use a hair dryer to gently warm them up without damaging any of the paint. The same goes for refitting the new ones, heat them as you apply them and use a fine mist of water on the arch to allow them to slide into position.
