website for engine numbers

Hi!
Can anyone direct me to a website, or other info, that will give the years that the FN prefix engines were fitted to Mk1 Golfs?

FN was fitted to Golfs manufactured between Jan'76 to Jul '79.  For Australian market it was Aug '76 to Jul '79.
