Wanted black cabbie for use in pop video (Torquay)

I have been contacted by the managment company of the band Metronomy as they wanted to use my black cabbie in a video shoot for the band's next single. I would have been up for it except that shoot will be in Torquay, Devon and I am in Yorkshire.

What they have said is -
'We don't have a large budget, but your car would be featured on a global music video with a very cool band driving it! We'd purchase 3rd party insurance for the weekend and pay for petrol for it to be delivered to Torquay, Devon.'

I have had a listen to the band on You Tube & they do sound pretty good, if you like that sort of thing.
Anyway if any Cabbie owners who are based a bit closer fancy it drop me a line & I will pass your details on to them.

Third party would cover them if they hit someone else, but who is going to pay for your pride and joy if they stuff it????

Completly agree with above…  There just trying to take you for a ride!!! or even worst you pride n joy…

Like I said I won't be taking them up on the offer mainly due to the distances involved.
I guess if anyone else fancies it they would have to discuss the insurance details with the management company.

BTW the band will be on Later with Jools Holland tonight.

That Metronomy band are getting pretty big now so whoever's cabby ends up on it will get a huge audience and earn a place in  Pop culture.  I'd say go for it if you're local and definitely insist they get fully comp insurance! (In fact maybe a compulsory mk1 driving test should be enforced to make sure they're worthy of a seat in the worlds  8) est car.)

Definitely you fogey, get that hearing aid seen too.  Tbh I feel the same about what I consider to be the youth by people only a few years my junior.  :dontknow:  I listen to teenagers talking slang and blasting out tunes on tinny phones on the bus and I think I'm from another era…..
