I think the last time I did it I sent all the photo's I had and a full list of receipts and I got an agreed valuation of 5K. The certificate had Highway insurance on it…

If you'd like a quotation from us feel free to PM me your details and I'd be more than happy to get one of my quotes team to give you a call back.

They let you decide the valuation based on a self assesment that you do on your own car. They are fair, realistic and provide a good service. You fill out a bit of paper and send some photo's of your pride and joy in and thats it. Both my Golfs are insured through them and I found it it to the best and most importantly, cheapest policy. Ive re-newed my insurance through them without evan getting other quotes. They also gave me European Road side Assistance with the policy.
The worst experience I have had was with Adrian Flux! 3 phone calls just to get a quote, never mind cover. Each time I had to call them back. Then they wanted to credit check me before I could have a policy with them! Theres no problem with my credit, but thats the first time in 16 years of insuring cars some one has asked me that! Not going to mention the price of the quote, twice as much as my current policy! Ive work in the Retail Car Business all my life and they havent got a very good name. Poor customer service. Would not recomend.

It's all down to the companies to specify the T&C's for the valuation. Usually good quality photos etc inc engine bay, interior etc.
There was a thread about this via BigNormRivage.
Cannot remember the issue, but it was to do with, if you got hit by a third party they don't apply the agreed valuation and you get a market value. The agreed only applies if your the instigating party. I am not sure if your insurance would make up any shortfall.
I am sure someone will correct the above if it's incorrect. So I would invite the insurers to comment on the real situation of what's covered, what happens if your hit by third party etc. it would really clear up some confusion.
Cheers
