So it's unregistered but been stripped down to it's shell, fishy. If it's  priceless as he says then why no reserve? Also if he has the rest, engine, interior etc, why isn't that being sold with the car? Strange.

Not sure, would an unregistered shell even be considered as a new car, could you legally put a speedo in it with delivery mileage? You can buy a brand new Mini heratige shell but pretty sure it wouldn't be counted as a brand new car. If not then it's just a nice shell nothing special.

he doesn't say it's been stripped down, doesn't mention how it was bought at all, it's possible his friend aquired the shell only from VW (end of line maybe?).

if it's never been registered etc it may never have been built in the first place.. that's how i take his wording anyway.

the fact it has a build sticker, = its been down the production line and completed, so should have been sold they were built to order i think, ie you dont just churn cars out that have no buyer….irt makes no sense

you couldnt use it legaly for a reshell it would go on a Q plate i think due to lack of original parts, ie engine and drive train

it has SILVER wheels!! so its been resprayed

some one from the club offical ask him for the vin lol and watch him run a mile.

Pity it doesn't seem to have any of the original car's parts with it.

The shell is from a Campaign for sure with the 707 and 750 codes on the sticker (though these are easily reproduced) - a picture of the VIN plate would be better.

I would be asking for proof from the DVLA that is is unregistered. As said it is just worth whatever a nice shell is worth, no more.

True it doesn't say it's been stripped down, but if it hasn't been then it's simply a shell not an unregistered car as he seems to be claiming. As far as I'm aware you can't register a shell except on a Q plate, which devalues it. See he's after ?5K for it, yeah right!

i have to say i wouldn't pay 5k for it… i wouldn't pay 5k for much actually but certainly not just  a shell.

I'm not sure it can be registered nowadays anyway. The Mk1 Golf isn't type approved based on today's rules, I know there's a grace period for 'run out' last few of production cars to be registered late on when there's an update or change to the type approval requirements, but I imagine its only a couple of years, not 25.

A perfect shell is worth more than ?500 but certainly no where near ?5K. It's currently at ?2250 with 7 days to go, wouldn't pay more than that, so will be interesting what it eventually goes for.

A right load of old bollox. You can even see what the idiot has stripped it down and sprayed it. Hardly brand new when it's also got silver tyres.

None of it makes any sense, it's just a re-sprayed shell and probably a rusty one at that.
