Took mk1 to work... don't want to put it back

Nipped home and took the mk1 out of the garage to show the lads at work…. it's now sitting outside the window and I just want to go out in it again  :cry:  …. they can't beleive how good it is for it's age or how quick it is… even the moody one of the lot was smiling like a mental patient when I let him have a shot…..

Anyone else only use theirs now and again therefore gutted putting it back in the garage?

i only use mine once or twice a week. in the summer tho i'm hoping to live in it.

i drive a 307hdi all week to work but it's just so boring

i love the feeling the golf give me when your driving. could put a smile on anyones face, even the misrable gits at work

would not change it for the world

took mine out last weekend and still not put it back

salt on the roads is putting me off though  

Took it away with me over xmas and still havent put it back…*must* tonight and get the salt on the mk3

i'm using mine everyday, colour changes from blue to white daily  but just keep washing it off.

i went round the garage this morning to lower the front end finally,but had to take it for a rasp before,even though its got no tax or mot  :roll:

Guna go the long way home I think…. just to get the most of it… hate putting it back…. might get a daily instead of my vectra diesel but it'll be expensive on fuel for the month….

I use mine for the 20min drive to work on a sunday, otherwise it sits outside waiting

I use my own goc everyday to work and all my colleagues love the car.

I use mine everyday, but I don't like driving around with all this salt about!!

Nothing I can do tho  :dontknow:

Want to buy another small new car as a more daily runabout and have my Mk1 as a summer workhorse!

Only take mine out occasionally over the winter. She'll get a lot more of my time during the summer months though. Isn't it amazing how your mk1 can give you a great feel good factor though? I mean some days I can be just driving along with a huge grin. Magic.

I bought myself a focus diesel for a run around so that i don't get tempted to take the golf to work!
must say that since i have owned it almost 10days i have only driven it on the odd occasion but when i do, i drive like i am in a touring car race and it gives me a massive grin and an adrenline buzz as the focus diesel is just a armchair cruiser in comparison.
nearly everyone that has been a passenger in the golf is shocked how quick an 25year old car is along with how mint the interior and exterior is!
well happy, will be wiring up my system this weekend and then sunday i will put the golf to rest in my garage until i fancy bringing her out again.
i have been looking for a golf mk1 for a very long time and this one will be my 3rd as the other 2 were not in the same league as this one.

Always gutted when I bring mine home again - I usually have it off the road during winter too - which is most miserable!
