Things to look out for when buying a MK1 Golf Cab?! :S
Im new to this site and forum. There is a MK1 Golf Cab for sale local to me and i have arranged to view it either this evening (Tues) or tommorow.
Are there any things that i should pay close attention to?
What are the general problems associated with these cars?
I have driven past it a number of times, and it looks very tidy…but i know the guy who has it up for sale works for a local handwash and valeting service, so he would be good at masking any possible flaws.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

you need to know, but in short, thinks specific to the cabby would
be (in my opinion) condition of the hood, should be straight above
windows, not bulging up, check the rear screen is not leaking
as this is a common problem, and not the easiest of fixes, water
leaks in to the foot wells, check condition of all of the rubber seals
everywhere, one on the top of the screen and most importantly the
ones that go up the back of the doors and over the pillar, and down
on front of the rear windows, these are difficult & expensive find/ buy.
In genral use your common sense, if its a shed, leave it, there are
lots out there at this time of year, and a dodgy one can be very expensive
to put right, if it needs, hoods, seals, etc…
Best of luck & let us know how you get on

I'd have to catch mine with a left hook for her to like my car.
Let's have the pics then.
