Stolen Mk1 Golf Gti

Hi every one

I am a new user to this site, Hope some one can help.
My beloved MK1 Golf Gti that i have had for the last 7 years was stolen last night in Rotherham.
Reg A818 WWG
1.8 Gti
Mars Red
VIN/Chassis/Frame No 17DW611712
Engine No DX071018

It was going to be my next restoration project had big plans for car, it did need some body work doing to it and a lot of tlc.
Please if any one hears of see's of the car can you get in touch?

sorry to hear that. the sad truth is that the police will probably find it burnt out down a country lane! Im sure if anyone here is offered it they will contact the police instantly!

Just a thought, why not make a little poster and ask some of the pubs in the area to pop it up. at least it gets the message out there that you are actively doing something to find out where its gone!

Sympathy.  Would be nice to hope you'd get it back… or at least that something horrible happens to the idiots who nicked it  

Sounds like it wasnt currently in use? if it was just languishing in your drive or on a bit of land its highly likely a "member" from the "unpaid caravan club" has taken it to weigh it in for scrap….they are always doing it with apparantly "abandoned" vehicles were i live, quite simply they thieving toe rags!
either that or its someone who knows how much parts for a mk1 can fetch now, either way thats a low down dirty to pull on anyone, contact your local recycle or breakers and make sure its reported as stolen to police.

i have informed the police and also some scrap yards in the local area hopefully this mite help

What do you mean by id codes?

im sure all who read this thread will have there eye's wide open…

how was it stolen?  was it alarmed etc?  just wonder if i should start using my gearstick lock from now on…  :cry:

well more fool me, it was let at my dads lock up and they drove throw the gates and smashed the lock off, and then i think they must off loaded it on to a flat back truck as the car had 4 flat tryers and a flat batery, so coud'nt be driven away easaly.

So they must off come well preped for the job, they new what they were doing.

My only hope is that the police look at the local cctv that is near by (but weather or not they will!)

and because it was off the road i had no insurance, So no car and no pat out but the money isnt what i wanted any way its the car that iam intersted in.

the car was stolen from masbrough monday night

i mite have got some cctv footage of the theft just waiting on some one getting back to me so just deppends weather this company are willing to help.
one of their camar's is pointing at the gate that they broke in to.
