someones tried nicking my car....
came home today and noticed the passenger door on the GTi was sort of half open, but still locked, you know when it sort of gets stuck in the middle.
well i thought that was strange cos it hasnt been opened in weeks, then i looked at the handle and found it nearly came off in my hand!, it had been pried away and the metal inside the handle was snapped in two.
so someone had a do at releasing the mechanism but couldnt unlock the door (its de locked) and then sort of placed the handle back on so it wasnt noticable.
absolute lousy thieving ****** **** ******** ******* ******* *****'s
nowts safe anymore
i may have to invest in some rotweilers or something…….

Sorry to hear the news, unfortunately car crime is universal and there's no getting away from the fact that the average car thief targets older cars because they're easier to nick.

sorry to hear that, unfortunately some car thieves pass on the old ways to steal the older cars.
To be brutally honest any car is easier to get into by smashing a window! so some of these people as expected arent the sharpest tools in the shed! it sounds like it could be a genuine attempt to steal the car, they may have been disturbed? take the rotor arm and coil lead off it if your leaving it outside
on the point of Armour door plates they do a reasonable job, if nothing else they cover previous attempts, but i manged to break into my mates car with them on when he locked his keys in with the car running!!! he had some silly clifford add on extra were it dead locks the doors central locking after its been running for a few minutes, and he let the door shut and couldnt get back in! i didnt fancy trying to find a piece of green tint glass so off came the handle, surprised me how easily it came off! no damage to the door metal either, just snapped the weakest point, the inner handle fixing bracket!!!

well iv got some of those armour door plates on order  aswell as a relacement handle for the one the lousy swine broke
they must have wanted the car, theres no stereo in it, just a big hole where it should be
, nor anything else of value in there. one more thing, i think they new what they were doing, there was no damage to the door what so ever, yet the handle was snapped in two, which makes me think they definately were after the car.
my mate reckons it was a 'contract theft' as he calls it, where it was specifically targeted. makes my blood boil when i think about it :x
i know the mk1's are targeted for theft, easy to get into, plus their wanted i guess.
theres bee a few people (that iv seen) eyeing it up before today, usually the scrotes coming round with pizza delivery leaflets, and door to door people etc :? guess they're the only ones that will see it, cos im fair secluded where i live.
funnily enough i have one of those toad alarms that locks me in the car when its running, cant say im a fan either!
well if i know its going to be stood for any length of time ill take the steering wheel off (easy enough  ) thats a good a deterant as any!

Unfortunately theiving little magpies notice when something nice is always left in the same place, my uncle has the same problem with his Harleys, he is paranoid to leave them static in the same place twice ever!!
Steering wheel off is a good plan! just watch though if they see it they might bring their own!!
Stick it full lock and block it in with another motor aswell if you can, they gotta be someone in the know about mk1`s ?? as theres no point in nicking one if your not.
I would wait in a bush with a bat and a bull terrier for a week, they will be back!! thats what i did when someone came to break into my garage a second time!! my Lhasa mk1 was in there when they originally broke in and i think they had some ideas of taking it,
enter big geezer wiv a bat and a nasty dog………………….(it bit me too :? )
never saw them again  oh the folly of youth

Know what you mean about that bloody alarm!
Glad to hear they didn't get it or do too much damage in the process.

i noticed the rubber along the bottom of the back door window was pushed down under itself on the mk4 the other day. someone perhaps forcing something between the glass and seal? i never use the back windows and it seems unlikely that the rubber would have done it on its own! seems like its is that time of year!!

darker evenings mean the little scumbags get a better chance to skulk about theiving.
I dunno whats the matter with them? i see a nice car and admire it, never ever have i thought to break into one or steal it.
these people dont realise what effect they have on people
one of my mates had the polished wheels nicked off his 1.9 205 Gti on his drive a few years back, it was parked right under his front room window and the curtains were open and he was sat watching tv!! and whats more they broke into another peugeot down the road to get the jack to do it!! how cheeky is that! they done loads of damage to his as well as they didnt use the jacking points!

the ones that damage cars for fun are the same as those who slam the car door…. the ones who dont/cant drive!!!
its true! when you own your own car you start realising how much that hinge is going to cost to repair and the value of a new wing mirror!

^ I cant believe it isnt alarmed or immobilised? the invention of cordless drills ruined stop locks and such like, they can be overcome in seconds, the raid removeable hub for the steering is the best one i have seen
mines got a clifford G4 on it, so its low loaders only if they want mine, either that or they spend about 6 hours trying to bypass it
