Smoked South African Rears - Can they be ordered from VW UK??? If not where can I get some!!

I'm trying to find some info on the Smoked South African Citi Lights, not the stupid US Spec or R-Line ones but these:



I found a thread (HERE) which lists the part number from January 2012, so I know they must still be available. But can you order them from VW? The part numbers I got from the thread are below:

17s 945 095A 17s 945 096A that's left and right type 1, 17s 945 095D 17s 945 096D that's type 2 and the R line lights are: 17s 945 095E 17s 945 096E

I can't find any other info about these lights on the internet, apart from Eurowagens who sell them but I have contacted them and they say they are not branded items. I want either Hella or VW parts.

i'd love a set too. I don't think these are sa. I have seen them a couple of years back on a german parts site. might be worth asking funkstar where his arches have come from, might be the same place. irc the were £130 last time I looked.

Either that or try and get a contact in South Africa. I've got a mate who lives in Joburg and comes back here every couple of months. He's due to bring me a couple of pairs back shortly.

are those actually sa lights? I thought the sa omes had round bit in them

They have the UK spec and both smoked lights out there. As the golf was still in production until 2009 or so used they are plentiful.

The difficulty is getting someone to send them here.

I have a set of these Brand new in the box. I don't need tham now a I have chaged plans with the project. If anyone is interested please drop me a PM.

Joe90k  that's my car in the opening postThe lights are genuine came in vw boxes and  are  made by hella . I kept the numbers from the boxes which are

996945111  and 996945112.

When I looked into it they were also  available as a pattern part.

thanks for the part numbers mark83. are they available from uk dealers under that part number or just sa dealers?

yeah uk dealer isnt going to help you here, what you need is to find someone living in SA who is happy to work as a broker for importing these lights, assuming they are still available.

I tried to look up price in ETKA but since its not a euro part I cant find out

There was a thread about these lights a little while ago & everyone was have problems getting sets because there was a shortage of one side.
Not sure why 1 side would sell more the then other.

Crazy quiff used to sell them and have stopped so my guess is there no longer available 

exactly what i have on mine.
100% genuine and 100% south africa spec.

i got mine from crazy quiffs a couple of years ago though…

if i get time i'll have a look at work tomorrow and see what i can find out about ordering them in ..

After buying a non gen but very high quality set off Cavs they arrived today, the right lens was perfect, the left like this:
