Series 1 GTI in the scrappy.

Just went over the scrappy to grab a few bits of trim for the mk2, and theres a early mk1 GTI in there, pre '80, with the small light rear panel.

thought you lot might like to know about it.

dash and rear lights were gone when i got there.

i didnt pay to much attention to it really,

spotted it from the other side of the yard, waled over and had a look through the window- noticed the early steering wheel - ooooo, walked round the back to check the rear lights, and yea, its a series one  :cry:

dash was missing, as were the rear lights, its got a series 2 silver/ black stripped interior, with a stainless exhaust system laying on the front seats.

went to pop the bonnet, just to have a nose really, but the bonnet release cable was snapped. I think one of the front wings was removed but resting in place, cant really remember.

might be worth calling them first- im not sure they can sell a car once its in there, but im sure a few ??? would persuade them if anyone wanted to take it as a whole.

deffo worth saving even if it needs a fair bit, they are pretty rare  8)
