seat fabric?

hi guys and gals
im wondering if anyone out there knows where to get non gti seat fabrics? as im seriously considering getting my mk1 gx interior retrimmed in the original material but i cant find any at all,its both materials id need to track down as the interiors starting to show its age but isnt ripped ,just got saggy seat cloth on front seats and staining from that leaky britax roof on it.
any help would be great as the seats do let it down a bit on the inside

Pretty impossible to find unfortunately.

The early GTI stuff and the black is available from Eurowagens.

You will either have to search for some low milage seats or get yours recovered in a more modern material or maybe leather.

cheers for the reply,its ashame that there isnt a company that specializes in all the vw fabrics that have been produced as it would make life so much easier but in saying that i suppose ive got an excuse to have leather now or i could find some plaid material that i like

This is what I recently had done to mine

oh my god i want!,that is a gorgeous interior and its just ashame it is'nt a 5door interior as id be pestering you till you sold me it,i had seen some purple plaid that looked really cool but seriously dont know if i could make it work in a mk1 but the quality of your interior is making me seriously tempted now that ive seen it and the leather work looks absolutely top notch,who done the retrim?

i would certainlly be pleased too and its the first time ive seen that fabric used in a mk1 golf as ive seen it on a mk1 scirocco in the states but it does look mega cool on anything i suppose,i might just have a look at there site and see some more of there work but from your interior it looks like they know exactly what there doing.

1200 + VAT for the seats, front and rear.

The front seats are actually out of a Sportline.

Seats look great. Is that napa leather. Also did you have to supply the material. Mines getting done today with the red tartan napa combo can't wait.. Same sort of price but not getting the door cards done but having the console leathered. Going to show the fella yours so that he knows what standard I'm expecting.

The leather is high quality cow hide and not sheep which nappa is made from.

lhasadreams was there much work in getting the sportline seats to fit into your tin top, mine is an 83 GTi and was thinking of fitting the same seats

None at all mate, they slide straight in, even the back and forth adjuster is on the right side.
You will need to unbolt the seat belt clip off you old seats and bolt it to the Sportlines. Unless you can get the Spotline seat belts as well.

Mines gone in now getting the seats done .
Couldn't help myself but had to see how they were getting on.
 Back seats were done I was a bit worried the red tartan would be a bit too much .
Don't know why I was worried after the over the top seats that were in there already .
They looked really good and can't wait til the rest is done.

I nearly went for that cloth, but then I saw a Rocco with the green and yellow cloth and that made my mind up.

Anything's got to look better than what was in there lol.
Although the guy doing the seats said the amount of work that went into them must have cost a fortune especially 30 years ago.
Plus the steering wheel got replaced a couple of years ago.

Mines been done now. So happy with them totally transforms the car. Centre console looks amazing ( turbo gauge not working now but will get fixed).
Was dark when picked it up so will post up some pics at the weekend.

I've been searching high and low for my cars fabric and its only on there!

My brother has his own retriming business so that bits easy - just need to get the fabric here
