What were they like? I don't think I've seen one.

It was a panasonic btw, an mine is a GL, so it is possibly the same as supplied on a GX :dontknow:
Just found the model number actually
it is a MATSUSHITA (panasonic parent company) : CQ - 383EE

I'm actually really happy with the Sony tape player I've got, early 90s model. It looks original as it's still square and black with nothing fancy. The thing that annoys me is that the volume/power/balance (all in one!) knob cracked in half and fell off, and so now it's a bit tricky to switch it on!

a CD player at the moment, as the original needs refurbing

It sounds pretty good considering that age of it. I had to upgrade the Blaupunkt speakers though, they were made of masking tape!

took mine out :cry: it did not play them flappy plastic thingys
its all wraped up and boxed though and can easilly be put back in if need be
