Last time I spoke to Niel about plans for it, he said he wanted to strip out the interior, whack some small bumpers on it and get some different wheels??
I always thought it was a bit clean for him!!

I'll have to agree with you there but it has serious potential to be a very very nice car?? I reckon it needs those clipper bumpers taken off for a start!! :dontknow:Topoftherange said
8O and if anyone was being brutally honest its not quite as nice a car as it first seems when you have a close look!!!!

I did'nt say it was'nt worth it I merely said it was a bit to pricey for me as in I cannot afford 4 large ones!!

its always suspect when a car gets moved on so many times…
Well the reason that it got sold to Niel at the Yard was that it had a rear end shunt and I think the guy did'nt have the money to repair it, as I believe he didnt want to go through insurance??
Niel had it repaired to a high standard, he has just got bored with it, if you've ever seen any of Niels other VW's he is not a concours show type of guy trust me he likes his racing!!

I think it is a smart looking car.the interior is beutiful……but the outside and bay have aged, it has passed through too many hands lately and needs a freshen up in my opinion, and thats gonna cost a few quid to do.
2.5 - 3k is a realistic price if you ask me.
I dunno wether it was just the driver? or the gear box? but when it was getting rinsed up the strip a Gti festival at the pod it had a serious problem getting gears!!!
Not only that but due to its "race" past surely that engine is an unknown quantity? i have a VR6 and if you abuse them things can go expensively wrong!!! chains, headgasket, water pump, dissy/coil pak depending on engine type OBD1 or OBD2, and nothing on the engine is cheap to put right!!!
it needs some tlc before it can truely shine again, but i agree the basis is there, and after all, besides the G60 or 20vt engines the VR6 has gotta be one of the best sounding VW engines ever if its not the most powerfull or cheaply tuneable 8)
