open the bonnet where the rubber seal goes across the rain tray there should be a cut out or clear peice under that will be the chassis number
unless its had ome of those so engine smooth mods done to it.. then it'll either be moved or someone will have have lobbed it in the bin

Trying to find a chassis number on the car, if we cant then dont know if its worth fixing up ?

That's true. Once a Q plate always a Q plate! You can't even change it for a private plate.
Q plates are for vehicles that cannot be determined to place,age and/or build. It could have been an import and not be able to identify the year it was made - This would give it a Q too I believe.
Most kit cars are Q plates and there's no stigma attached to these - It's obvious they've been built from odd parts and years but I'd say there is a stigma to normal cars on a Q. Does seriously dent their value!
