mk1 golf turbo 0-60

i was just wondering whats the average 0-60 on a mk1 turbo if you run it standard with the 1.8t 20v engine in it? i know the 4wd one on youtube is stupidly fast but whats the average before you start messing about with new wheels etc my friend seems to think a m3 will completely out run it, even with a rolling start

Unlikely then. I don't know who (which engine, spec etc) was faster than me, and also bear in mind its only a select few of the "fast" Mk1s around, and was back in 2008 too. Maybe there's more up-to-date times which are quicker also:

that's still pretty rapid! its pretty much the same as a nissan pulsar and thats 4wd… and they blow up often.
