MK1 campaign sunroof, should it open all the way

Perhaps a daft question, but should the sunroof open all the way so from the inside you see nothing of the sliding section??

my campaign roof lets in quite a lot of water in when shut in heavy rain, what can be done about it? can I get some sort of refurb kit for it?  :dontknow:
