I reckon so, i dont think he will sell it on the bay on its first run on it, but it will sell for the asking price.

but

why remove the waxoyl? It will save the car in the future surely, and is orginal too. I know on my car the waxoyl has saved it from rust, and yes there is loads round the doorshuts and gutters etc but at the end of the day its doing its job, i personally dont think its unsightly, and and you can guarantee that there havent been any new panels then as well.

dont get me wrong i think it is an honest car and i do like it too

That is a stunning example very very nice the seats look mint!!
Only thing i noticed is, the stickers down the bottom of the door and the silver pin stripe fold round the door shuts is this how they were fitted from the factory??

You can easily spend more than that on a restoration to get to that standard, from the way it looks in the pics anyway.

I found this car when doing a search on the club register as I was looking for one with similar mileage to compare with mine.
Probably being biased but I reckon thats worth every penny. You could quite easy spend double restoring one and it would never be as original as that.
If I had the room I'd have it……. but don't tell the wife I said that!!

If I was a collector and had ?5k lying about I'd defo snap that up! Personally I think it's a bargain But, it would have to be owned by a collector for sure. There's no way you'd want to drive it much.

There's a few extremely low mileage Integrale evo's for sale at the moment with asking prices of ?25-?40k 8O kind of put's it into perspective.

Even for a 50k mileage car, that looks extremely well looked after! My Delta has done around that and although it's minty, that just puts it to shame :cry:

I've seen this car before, it was advertised for sale on Pistonheads a while ago…………………………i'm sure of it. wonder why he wants to sell??

Its perfect. the club should buy it and use it as our flagship car at all vw shows.  

Its quality. My rivage has less mileage than that, but not as mint as that.

Truely fantastic. Well worth the cash.

Although in the current climate, not sure somone will be prepared to pay 5k for it to sit in the garage, but i suppose your money is safer in that than sitting in a bloody bank  :?

I know nothing about GTI's, but for 5k thats is stunning, what a piece of history, if only i had that sort of money, anyone who has that is very lucky indeed :wink:

I am selling my 3 year old passat tdi for about the same money.

May consider a cheeky offer myself….
