Although we live in London I keep my car in Mayo. We use it on holidays and my inlaws live there so the family go often.

Most of the time its in a garage wrapped up.

Unfortuneatly it may have to go if i cant get power steering sorted and the 3 piont belts before next summer.

At least there are now 3

whats the problem with the power steering? as in lack of?..

yes, need to get it as my wife wont drive it with out it.

Never a problem as i always drove but now she spends more time there with the 2 kids it has

i think there is guy in kerry who retro fitd power steering..he did his own mk1 golf las tyear..personally i love it without it as it gives more of a feeling that your steering rather than the car

Get a Meet Organised before every one puts their MK1's into Hibernation ops:

Try ClubGTi.Net 8)  or NS(North/South) DUBS  :wink:

They are the Main Two Joint VAG Clubs in Ireland and have Monthly Meets and  Attend Any Shows  :wink:

yeah i was lookin at nsdubs alright and vagdrivers.net….good few mk1 owners on that..i must put a thread up about it.see what we can get going…nearly hibernation time though as you said
