HELP, Broken down

my formal e has just stopped running, can anyone help?

i was driving back from my friend and it started cutting out in 3rd and 4th, it got quite jumpy after cutting out it would restart

i got home just! but now it wont start
does anyone have any idea what the problem may be?

is there anything i can check?

i would check that the fule is geting there also check that you have a spark if you have any problems pm me

I've managed to get it started now, sounds very unhealthy though, and hasn't got any power to move, what can I do to check the petrol is getting to the engine ok?

not much really, on a carb engine. When I had one I rigged up another tube and a lemonade bottle, to gravity feed fuel, thus eliminating the fuel lines and fuel pump (for test purposes).
