Think i prefer my unrestored minter though.. the odd scratch and paint chip adds to the charm i think. That is possibly going a bit far.

It would win any show…
look at the level of work that has went in to it. Its better than concours - why get all annoyed over the wrong warning sticker or a wrong shade of paint or whatever else - its sweat and blood id say in that car! 8)
and its all for everyone to enjoy have a good look around!
quality! 8)

But in my opinion what is the point in owning a car as good as that if you are not going to use it.

Not gonna slate this car, but I kinda made a rule for myself:
Cars should be judged when they're moving.

The guy has spent a lot of time preserving a classic and should be applauded for it.
Pity few people comment without talking to the owner about his motivations, etc.
I am sure it goes as well as any other stock GTi.
I'll happily comment, just like others have and give my thoughts, after all this is a forum..
As to applauding for preserving the classic and spending a lot of time doing it, then I applaud every single MK1 owner, isnt that why we are all here on this forum, we are all in our own ways preserving classics some have large bank accounts and win trophy's and other have nothing and scrape by..
however fair play to Suan and Noddy for doing it, I personally wouldnt keep a car to look at and take to shows just to show it off, I'd rather enjoy it by driving it, but each to their own…

x2 I wasnt slating the people for the fact they dont drive it, im happy that they have done a great job on it, just feel that it should be allowed to have a drive now and again.
Top job though

I guess it is like painting (as a hobby), do you paint for other people's pleasure, because you enjoy painting, or both?
