Golf hood...white or black??

hi there, I've just bought a white MK1 cabrio, F reg, 75,000 on the clock, and soooo clean you could eat your dinner off it!!!     I'm having the hood replaced with a new mohair hood at the end of March, problem is…do I go for black, same as the original, or white??? I'm thinking stick with the original colour as it's easier to keep clean but a few of my mates are saying white as it's fresh and will look crisp, especially in the summer. Anyone out there who's got a white hood like to tell me how easy is it to maintain and keep looking white and if they would've preferred black?? Would appreciate any feedback as can't make up my mind and it's not something I want to dither about too long as old hood leaks so want it sorted asap. Cheers guys, and gals!!!

I had a white pvc one, it was pig to clean, shows the muck up. Never seen or heard of a white Mohair one before.

Go for black mate.

White will look good for a while but black for the longrun.

Go for original mate, I'm sure white would look really nice as well, but only for about 1 week and then will look a bit gruby :-)

I'd go for black too. Think of all the dust and oil from the road that ends up on your car. It might look great to start with, but black will look better for longer (and looks ace on very dark nights when you can't see much of the roof at all).

I like the red/burgandy ones on white cars.

White roofs are very hairdresser!  

Thanks guys I was saying White would be hard to keep fresh and was leaning more towards black so I'm gonna stay original and get black. Also as for never hearing of a White mohair, I went on the net looking for suppliers and found a site where you can choose from a selection of colours in both vinyl and mohair, I dont remember if I put down what car and if those colours apply for an old golf but I'll check again and let you know! And as for white hoods being very hairdresser, that comment made me lol!!!  Thanks again for your input  :wink:
