mk1 gti cab has just started to drink fuel for some reason put a new clutch in about 4 weeks ago and its drinking fuel . the car drives and performs normal i didnt touch any of the injection or timing system had the car put on the exhaust analyser and was running slightly weak thought maybe the gauge had gone faulty because i had the clocks out to change the speedo cable broke down yesterday having done 90 miles of regular driving to £20 of fuel any suggestions would be greatfully recieved thanks

You dont have a fuel leak do you? Or spill/lose any during the clutch change? Or leave it running a long time while tinkering etc?

no ive been using it for the last 3 weeks cant see any leaks or smell any thing that might suggest a leak

prior to the clutch change i was getting 70ish miles to £10 of fuel which thought would be about right
