Engine No?

Found out my golf has had a new engine that isnt declared… to save myself mither i called the DVLA who said just let them know in writing with the new engine no and all should be ok… problem is I cant actually find the engine number!
Can anyone help me here? perhaps upload a photo?

The engine number should be AA 000000, ie engine code then 6 numerals. The engine number for a big block engine is located on a small flat machined part of the block just below the cylinder head gasket and behind the distributer (ie the front side on the right as you face it). However they are almost impossible to read so you will need to clean it and use a torch.
