ebay sellers advertising parts they dont have

is this a common thing?

i've had it with 2 seperate sellers now, one a couple of years ago and one just recently.

i'm not really sure why they would do this, maybe to steer people to the other items they have possibly?

anyway, should they be named and shamed or reported to ebay?!

Name and shame the buggers, I have bought stuff off here and they decide not to sell, if they had it, and its costs money

If you can read this, thank a teacher,

If its in English, thank a soldier.

well "my friend" has won the auction, so will see what the response is now.

as said this is the 2nd time i've had this problem though, think it's well out of order. it's the only part i need to get my beloved back on the road!

Yup

Chubnut I ordered arch spats a year and a half ago and was told they was out of stock I could either get a full refund or wait 3 weeks until they came back in I waited an waited after six week I emailed them and was told they still didn't have any if I wanted the ones they did have in stock I would have to pay more money so I said I would wait a bit longer a year and a half latter I still don't have them and I still haven't had a refund it's really annoying because he has parts I would love to order but won't after being stung once.

after waiting a year i think you deserve the more expensive set just for waiting that long.
id be getting back to him before any more time goes by.

I've ordered quite a few things from him over the last couple of years and always been happy with the speed of service and the parts received. Have you tried phoning him to resolve?

I have also ordered from chubnut and had no problems, however a funny thing happened last night on e bay.

Bid on 2 items from the same place a sunroof wind defector and the lift arms, no other bids all the way through. Won the lift arms but hay ho was out bid by £1 on the wind deflector at the last minute…funny thing is im now getting a message saying seller has relisted or has another one like it for sale.

I would like to give him the benifit of the doubt and think he has a few of these, but it does make you wonder if he was just trying to raise the price.

I wait to be proved wrong

Andy

use myibidder.com, put your best price in and snipe it.. you don't have to be online and it's fairer for buyer and seller if everyone puts their best price in.. people who don't then too bad, it's their loss and didn't put their max amount in. It also stops bidding wars and you spending over your budget..
