Apart from the colour, the big bumper bodykit, the flaking paint on the bumper, the single wiper, the missing dashboard, the blown head gasket, the wheels and the fact he started from a non-GTI, its quite nice.

 wow that is possibly the worst mk1 i have ever seen! i would rather have an original with holes in the floor than that!!

There should be a law against someone doing that to a VW :wink:

I saw that the other day on ebay, was gonna post it up but forgot, it'll be interesting to see how much it goes for and then what happens to it, but its just wrong…

it is an utter pile though, i'll give you that, its done poorly in the sense that it looks pretty shoddy worksmanship and styling too…

also i havent seen a mk1 brighter than mine in a while!!

There's nothing wrong with a modified or engine conversion car starting from a non-GTI, so long as all the work has been done properly. For a 16V, you need the (same as stock GTI) high pressure fuel pump, I'd be checking that ths element is done to the same standard as a regular GTI. But what about brakes, suspension? And the GTI is trimmed nicer and already has the rev counter, oil temperature gauge, supportive seats, etc.

If you're building a very powerful car (eg 20vT) then you'd be upgrading the brakes and suspension beyond that of the stock GTI anyway, so its not such an issue.

No doubt u have a point completely, like u say it depends what ur doing, for me i wanted a completely custome car so replaced most things…and then it went whoosh in flames so i can put what i like in it now, custom interior, everything repainted, changed refitted etc etc…

the fact still remains, this car is erm…individual…i dont like it, but as long as someone enjoys it then thats all that matters i spose…who am i to comment, i drive an orange car…but hey at least its retro not rudeboy.

why oh why did i pay ?1850 for mine when i could have had that for ?729?!
