Hi all what method do you guys use to change the fuel filter? Do you just change the unit or do you disable the fuel pump and and start the car to depressurise the system?

what I do is have the car running then pull the pump relay the night before I do the job, that'll ensure you have removed as much pressure as possible. then undo the fittings with a rag over them to catch any fuel spray.

So just run it until it cuts out John?

yeah, the car will cut out pretty sharpish once the relay is removed. the longer you leave it the more pressure bleeds off, then as i say have a rag over the bolt before you crack it to catch any residual pressure

Lol,Just put a rag under the union on the filter and undo it,it's nothing hardly and you will still have fuel running out the filter anyway as you unscrew it,

Don't forget the 4 copper washers! They need to be changed or it wont seal properly!
