Car Hoods Northern

Has anybody used these and are they any good?!

I'm afetr a new hood for my Rivage so if you have used these (especially if you had a blue one) let me know how they were and how much.

Pics of any blue hoods would be good.

I do but the car is up North getting paint so might as well get the roof done while is up there if anyones any good...that said the Cov guy is good so might bring it back and get it done down here :dontknow:

Yep, i used these guys just before Christmas. I have to give them  10/10.
They come out replaced the hood, I went for a vinyl hood. I also had the back window frame and seals replace. But for the roof alone  it cost about £295 + vat. They offered to come out if i had any problems. They work down south as well!!

Was the £295 to buy the roof and fit it then?..

I've just dug my receipt out the roof plus a new rear cable with 17.5% Vat came to £355. Joe is the fitter for Mk 1 golfs, he has a love for the cars and has had Golf restoration projects on the go for years.
As for the fitting, it was great. From the outside it didn't look any different, although inside it felt much better.

Did they supply the frame and seals if so how much were they?

Very Good Quality Mohair - I managed to get mine fitted for £100 by a local trimmer down the coast.

Northern fitted mine about two years ago. They came out to me, ended up being about £400 for black mohair.

It looks great and I've had no problems with it loosening up or leaking and I live in Manchester so it's not like it hasn't had the opportunity

Hi, No I bought these separate. Crazy Quiff sorted me out on the seals and i bought the fame off ebay. I think I paid about £30 for the fame and i can't remember how much I paid for the seals but it wasn't much…(£15?).

I've had a fair amount of contact with the company over the years that I've been on the committee. I've always found them easy to talk to and VERY generous for the raffle prizes.

Their head office/ workshop is clean and tidy and had top end cars in there when I visited.

I will be using them when I have my outer hood replaced soon.
