Campaign steering wheels
I put mine in my Mk2, but I'm about to sell it, so was thinking about taking it out and selling seperately.
It's in reasonably good condition with some sun cracking at the top.

what does a campaign steering wheel look like ?
It's the same shape, etc, as a std Gti wheel but has leather around the rim instead of the foamy stuff (technical term there).
As for price - I've seen them top ?100. Cheapest I've had one for was ?40 but I'd say ?70 was fairly safe (?) Rubbing saddle food into the leather will help out with the cracking (mixture of beeswax and lanolin). Failing that, Vasoline Intensive Care hand cream helps too !

Thanks. I keep meaning to get some hide food on it, just never get round to it. If I keep it when I sell the mk2 I'll offer it on here first.

also double check but i think the leather on the campaign wheel stops in line with wheel, where mk2 wheels sometimes mistook for campaign wheels the leather overlaps the wheel and onto the spokes running towards the centre. hope that makes sense.
I think they're all the same, but not 100% sure.

According to ETKA, they're the same part number, but that's no guarantee.
I suspect earlier ones got the type jim described and later ones as well as sciroccos got the one I've got. VW probably sourced the wheels from somewhere else and the design changed slightly, hence the same part number.

In the world of dealer supplied parts, VW themselves aren't too bothered with authenticity and if the part more/less fits and does the same job, they'll supply a later part. Hence why ETKA isn't a definitive part number reference…..
