Calling all rivage owners!

A little thread to find out if rivages with leather have orange speedo needles and rivages withe cloth have white needles.
Please vote your combinations

Mine was orange needles and cloth.

I've got leather and although my clocks read in mph my maf reads in km. I think I have white needles but I'll check later. Think my rivage is a rhd import but nearly 20 year old records are hard to find.

both of ours have leather and both had white needles

Leather with orange needles.
I think it depended on what VW had to hand at the time.

Last Rivages in blue cloth had a different interior than the Mauritis blue, the seats were a more grey diagonal weave and black carpets.

Mine has the grey seats with the diagonal weave and black carpets,white needles also dosnt say gti on the boot lid it  says  golf cabriolet!

Yes some did have a different badge for the cabriolet bit.
My suspision is when they were building these along with the Sportlines and the last of the Cabby's, they used on hand the parts they had.
Normally the Sportlines were fitted with the orange needles, that's not to say during production runs at various stages they ran out of white needled clocks  and whilst waiting for more simply put orange ones in instead.
Wouldn't it be good to know someone who worked there to confirm, what happened?

To help with your piece of research: my Blue Rivage has blue cloth seats and the instrument panel has white needles. All 100% original as far as I can tell from the vehicle history file. AJ  8)

Yes yours would be Mauritus blue interior and blue carpet.

Hoping to crack on with mine again soon.

Update, mine has leather, orange needles, imperial speedo but metric display on maf?

Chortle thanks for the encouragement to post photos. Here's the first of what in time should be a jolly collection. This one was taken on 1 Feb 2012 when I was touring around the Northumberland coastline, beautiful countryside, snow happily away in the distance. Despite cold weather the car ran like a dream and was very comfortable. Could I go as far as to say warmer than a tin top? Probably just as warm as the layers of fabric must provide some sort of insulation. Slightly off topic but I hope that is excusable
