Calling all Cabby owners with 8x15" alloys

Post

Hi all I'm hoping to fit some different alloys to my Sportline and have come across some wheels that I think will suit it. The thing is they are 8x15" and are et25, I'm wandering whether they will rub on the rear or anywhere else. The car has standard suspension but the plan is to lower it on springs around 30mm too, anyone shed any light whether I will have issues or not ??? Thanks in advance

should fit ok, you might have to roll/trim the fron arches but only a tad

I don't understand the concept of rolling arches, do you mean the inner wings or clipper kit ?

Ive just put some 15x7 on mine and even that was running it close so personally to put 8Js on i think it would be more hassle then its worth!

Really, I'm getting mixed views on this.

Some of the guys over on edition38 are saying it should be fine.

I'm not so sure now…

Yes as dik van dub said, what are the details of the alloy? I think they won't be a straight on and away jobby, at the least your going to need some hubcentric spacers… 10mms poss?

The car is on standard suspension and standard Sportline Bbs Ras.

The wheels I want to fit are Axix OG alloys in the same colour combo as the RAs, they are et25 and 15"x8" however with 195/45/15 tyres…

you should be fine in essence you are only spacing the tyre 10mm further out

Thats one of the reasons i split my RM's as they came as 7 1/2" for the front and 8" at the rear. They are now 6 1/2" front and 7 1/2" rear.
No rubbing issues at all and no arch work required!!

Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

I have a sportline (can you tell by the name haha) and I currently run 9x15 on the back and 8x15 on teh front.  I dont get rubbing issues and im low.  It all depends on your ET.  Ideally you need ET 30 or maybe a tad more.
My OZ Turbos that I built were originally ET33 and I machined another 5mm off the mounting face making them ET 38.  Then this obviously changed a great deal by replacing the dishes with 2.5" outers.
Yours should fit as they are but remember, you can machine the face to adjust if they are too close for comfort.
The tyre size you mention is spot on for getting lows
