If you want wider than the standard sets (RM's @ 6.5" wide = 0.5" lip, 6" basket) then you'll be looking at wider dishes. If you go wider then it's better to have narrower fronts and slightly wider rears rather than the same width all around due to steering issues. So fronts could be 7.5" (6" basket and 1.5" lip) and rears 8 inch (6" basket and 2" lip)

Changing the width on the lips changes the offset of the wheels, standard 6.5" RM's are something like et33. Calculating Et always confuses me but there lots of info on the internet including ET calculators. More info on ET here

A 50 or 45 tyre profile is best but the width of your tyres depends on the width of your wheels, if you have a staggered set you will need different width tyres unless one is stretched more than the other. I've got 165/50/15's on 6.5" RM's but will be changing to 195/50/15's as I'm not really keen on the stretch.

You'll be able to find some RM's/RS's on here or they crop up a lot on Edition 38. For your budget you could get a built set ready to fit, or buy a set and refurbish them to your specs.

I think you might be best to have a look for Cabby's that you like with wider than standard lips and ask the owner for their spec's.
