any1 done a diy single wiper

hi all just wondering if anyone had done there own single wiper conversion on there mk1 .As i remember my mate doin one on a mk2 golf chopping a piece out and a bit of wield any pics would be great

I have not done one but afaik you use a scirocco wiper set up as they only used a single wiper? Forgive me if im wrong

you can buy a storm single wiper conversion on ebay there about 80.00 quid

I will be putting a single wiper scuttle with wiper up for sale off my Dads mk1 in a few months if you can wait that long. It would be a straight swap. Will just need welded in and wired up

But you can modify the mk1 linkage to a single wiper.Simply extend the  linkage on the frame that you will be using for the wiper  arm by 12cm and you'll get a full sreen wipe.Done one years ago, got a guy to weld the extra on and it cost a couple of quid.

Not done a DIY single wiper conversion but I do have a Mk1 with a single wiper, which comes as standard. TBH with the other Mk1s having 2 wipers, I'd prefer both of them! So I echo the above advice.

I looked at doing this as I like the look of them, sat straight up the middle of the screen, but the wieght saving on the 1 arm was tiny and i got told by a number of folks who had been there and done that it was a very bad idea and they had all either gone back to 2 arms, or wished they could.
