That programme makes me so angry,i just want to jump into the telly and keep hitting their stupid little heads together.I mean,he wants to replace the whole tailgate just because the black surround is missing! And even after going to see some guys clean mars red car, they get a close-up of the side stripes on the car, which theirs is missing, and they STILL put them on up-side down! And that dumb girl at the end who buys it! What a hell of a way to negociate the sale of a car!

I think due to me watching this when it first came out made me aware of the gearlinkage issue on these mk1's otherwise i was going to see mk1 and refusing them with the gear problem thinking it was the gearbox faulty.g60go said

Have you seen that bit where that Ed guy says "I can live with the fact that it has a mk2 centre consol?!!!" I nearly hit the wife coz I was jumping around so much :lmao: I have to admit, that they do have SOME good advice, but, I often hang my head in shame when they get it so wrong.
They harped on about the tail gate, and if you look closley at tghe end, theres a small rust patch on the front panel that they didn't bother to sort out :naughty: Yes they sometimes do a good job, AND I find the program very watchable, but that Ed china guy is supposed to be a VW nut, hahahahaha

Like has been said it ranges between fairly interesting and eye wateringly stupid.
My favourite episode is where they buy that brown Porsche 928 with the 'ugly' BBS splits on, and promptly straight swap them at a specialist for a set of manky teledials. :lmao:

Another beltin bit is where he takes the guys mk1 for a testdrive, and when he comes back tells the guy its a complete deathtrap, they abviously filmed that 1 before they `made` that Suzuki sj heap of junk.I would have done to Mike what Vinnie Jones done to that guys head in Lock Stock with the big Rover door!

I think its a OK serial not too bad, Ed does give some good tips, I wonder where is his garage though.
Even Drew was featured in that episode of the MK1 with his GTI.
Yes the front pannel wasnt even sorted out & i too dont see a reason for replacing the tailgate.
However i must admit had it not been ed i wouldnt know about the gear linkage problem

I just saw this on YouTube the other day. Yeah, okay some of the finer details were way off, and, yeah, the sales segments are very obviously staged, but it's still pretty cool that a Mk1 was featured in the first place.
