Think its skewed by the recent high price sale of a couple of extreme examples, esp the 205 above the Golf. Don't think every average Golf has gone up by that much. But happy and think I need to revise the agreed value of mine

I get your point but I think a lot of it comes down to availability, I mean how often do you see an old 205 on the road these days?

They like many cars of that time they were total rust buckets, solid metal was a factory extra back then!
(Our MK1's were only slightly better)

Here in Central Europe where we don't have many MK1's but I will see roughly speaking fifty to one 205!

You try picking up a Trabant cheaply, and let's be honest, to most of us a few years ago we wouldn't be seen dead anywhere near one!
