NEW DESIGN - 3D printed dashboard vents - banish that saggy vinyl

Post

I made these for my own car and put them on a FB group and suddenly it went mental, everyone wanted a set.

As a result I've had to buy another printer to keep up with demand.

New design 3D-printed vents in black, strong and flexible plastic to solve the problem of vinyl pushing out of the dash vents and looking ugly.

This is a set of 6 vents - 4 long and 2 short.

These parts simply push in to fit. You can glue them if you want but it should not be necessary.

There are 2 versions shown in the first photo: NORMAL and WIDE. Please specify which you want. WIDE is specifically for cars where the dashboard is not in the best condition. The wider flange should prevent them dropping down if your dash has gone soft over time.

This is designed to fit Golf MK1, Caddy Mk1 and Jetta Mk1. It may fit other models but not tested.

Please note that the type of plastic chosen for this task is very durable but it prints with stringy 'hairs'. Each part is cleaned-up by hand and ready to fit but it could be that you could clean up further if you are fussy.

I'v upgraded the material to ABS and I'm selling them on eBay when I have stock. Just search 'Golf Mk1 vents'

ABS printed?

Yes they are now in ABS. Previously they were in PETG which is easier to print but left a lot of clean-up to do. ABS is a pig to print but they come out better. I'm selling on eBay now only in the wider flange version. Here's some fitted to a customer's car. 367581998_614765767454198_8812115691880534498_n.jpg

You can find them here. I've put the price up a little because ABS is such a b***h to print that I have more failures.
