Mega Cheap insurance!

Been trying to grab quotes from everywhere I can lately for when i can drive, been getting quotes topping £8000 as a named driver on most normal cars, like 1.1 Pandas  8O . However, I am hoping to move to my sisters as her house is closer to uni, so i thought what the heck and stuck her address down. Bear in mind starting uni i would just be turning 18, as a named driver, i've just gotten a quote of £1335.57, with no NCB having held a license for a year!  8)   8)   8)
Sticking the same info to my parent's address and quotes are 6k plus, would cost my dad £70 a year to insure the golf if he was to live at my sisters too.

Looks like my Mk1 dream is starting to come true! Just 7 months left and I'll be (legally) driving

insurance is a joke full stop, my mk1 gti i had a few weeks back was £700 with full no claims no points etc, and i'm lucky enough to have 2 address i can insure cars from, my other address worked out less then £300 with same company, but the bizzare bit is my main address with out sounding a snob is a really nice quiet area no crimes happen with in a 3 mile raduis ( well you know what i mean its not heard off in these parts) and the address with cheap qoute is in the middle off a rough area where cars are known for being broken into or nicked etc

If you live in a Village or quiet area it goes up as the cars in nicer areas tend to be nicer cars and attract thieves. My insurance wanted a stupid amount from me too it was £500 then went up to £1500 in a year bearing in mind I'm a girl and quite a lot older than 18 :(

Don't forget if you insure with Adrian Flux, Footman James or Premium Choice Insurance you get up to 15% club discount if your a paid member and with a £1300 quote think what you'll get back its worth the £15 membership it but don't tell them about the discount till they have given you a quote :D

Haha, cheers fellas (and lady), dad was quoted £72.10 to be insured on the GTi.
Think it was quoted with insure2drive on a comparison site, so should be able to get that fee reduced.

Just got a couple of quotes for the Clipper value £5000, fully comp, 3000 miles pa,  declared alloys at £500 no accidents or claims etc. FJ = £210    Prem =£240  so not as cheap as you guys 8O have to get a few more quotes I think.

Think I'm with Norton off the top of my head. It's £13 to declare as many mods as you like. Just insured my daily - not a mk1 - with ecar. They came out the cheapest by far so worth a try.
