I can't get classic insurance this year!
I live in London and have a motorbike which is my primary mode of transport, which i travel to and from work on. My car just sits on the drive and gets the odd weekend run out and stretches it legs to sainsburys. Anyway some insurance companies are saying that i need to be insured on another car to qualify for classic insurance. Has anyone else had the same problem and know of any companies that will accept bike insurance as the primary mode of transport?

I was told this by peter best so I got myself covered on the misses car phoned them back up and told them im now covered.
The guy just said thats fine.
I then asked him do I need to fax the document through to prove im covered?
To which he replied 'no im happy to take your word'
Next time they ask you just say you are covered and see what they say.

Don't do that the insurance companies check with MIB as they control all the companies licences.

Also have you got any family members that can add you to there policy?
That would be your easiest option.

They say that the car that you are insured on has to be in your household so no point me getting insured on my folks insurance in Ireland being as how i live in London. Footman James are taking my bike as 'another vehicle' but because of a theft claim and some points my premium has gone from £250 to £450… wounded!

I think classic insurance is getting a bit picky to be fair.
I doubled the premium on my renewal when I declared the mods on the car…..
They are all out to make money!

Projekt Frustration :
White 1991 Clipper. Lowered over polished zender rims, Single 40 dellorto on lynx manifold, kent cam, full stainless 'zorst / manifold, powerflex bushed and braced. Not the fastest car, but sounds super nice!
Still going after 12 years… never said it was a quick fix! Time is not my friend.
